The Americana Riding Group is well known in rodeo circles for skilled riding, precision horsemanship and red, white and blue patriotism. Along with husband Melvin who handles horses, tack and hardware Rama Griffeth works out the details, the costumes, schedules, travel and logistics. GRIFFETH "They all carry the American flag. They're all good girls and we feel like we have some guys that ride with us too, some of them because their daughters are in it or their wives or whatever. We heard a comment once that I really like and it says that our girls are as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside. And I feel that it's important when we carry the American flag that we honor the flag. Buy doing that we need to honor ourselves and make ourselves better people. We don't ever practice with the American flag. If a girl needs to practice with a flag Melvin has a flag pole and he puts either a gunny sack or something that resembles a flag so that the horse can get used to it but we still don't practice with American flags."
