Don Dixon and seven other staff members from the Idaho Farm Service Agency are in school today in Dallas, Texas. The state FSA director and some of his top personnel are learning all they can about the new Farm Bill. DIXON "The Washington office has of course since the farm will was passed been writing the new regulations comply with whatever the changes that have been made in the farm bill and so at this point in time we will be getting instruction on some of those changes." FSA employees from across the nation are in Dallas all this week for the training that was delayed by Hurricane Ike. Dixon says they'll probably need additional training after the first of the year on two new Farm Bill programs. DIXON "The acronym is ACRE and it is an election program within the direct payment counter cyclical program an election that they can move from the present program to a revenue type program There is a permanent disaster fund. There is a SHARE program which is actually a disaster program." And once again that is based on revenue. Today's Idaho Ag News Bill Scott
