Finally, some good news! With the near collapse of Wall Street, the ever maddening rising cost of&.everything, and the constant threat to nature due to reported global warming, I was beginning to think I would never read or hear an encouraging word again. But hallelujah, I was wrong! Australian scientists have recently discovered hundreds of new coral and marine species on the Great Barrier Reef. After hearing numerous reports over the last few months that several different marine life and the world's coral reefs were in danger of extinction it was refreshing to say the least to hear that scientists have found out of 300 soft coral, 130 were new species, and that dozens of new marine species were also found! You may be saying to yourself, that's nice, but what's the big deal? But as chief scientist Ron O'Dor states, "Knowledge of this ocean diversity matters on many levels, including possibly human health. One of these creatures may have properties of enormous value to humanity". Mother Nature proves once again that she is a strong and resilient lady.
