Signups will end on July 18th for producers to enroll in the Livestock Compensation Program and Livestock Indemnity Program. Those two programs provide aid to livestock producers who suffered losses in 2005, 2006 or 2007 because of natural disaster.
KEPPY "LIP is that if you had a natural disaster and you had livestock loss then there's a payment that the producer is eligible for. LCP is if there is a loss of any of the feed that the producer is using because of the natural disaster."
That's deputy Farm Service Agency administrator Glen Keppy. In Idaho nearly three million dollars have been dispersed to producers who suffered losses through drought or wildfires.
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service says the deadline for 2009 Environmental Quality Incentives Program signup is July 14th.
NRCS will accept applications for the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) until October 15th.
The deadline for applying for 2009 funding for the Wetland Reserve Program is also October 15. A landowner can apply for one of three types of WRP participation.
