Sarah Baker represented the Idaho Beef Council when it recognized the Peregrine Streak House in Kuna.
BAKER "On behalf of Idaho beef producers we'd like to congratulate you for being the grand prize winner in the 2007 Beef Backer Award for independent operators and just want to thank you for doing a great job of menu marketing beef products here in the state."
Restaurant owner Greg Nelson says the secret is offering a good cut of steak, keeping it fresh and well seasoned. It's What's For Dinner.
NELSON "With our current menu we run about 70 percent beef so it's a big sale item for us and we are very proud of the beef we serve."
Like so many others that keep returning Glen Umland stopped at the steakhouse once and now he considers himself a regular customer.
UMLAND "I'd offer you a bite but I'm stingy. It's excellent. I downgraded this time. I got the 'other ridiculous' cut the last time, 26 ounce steak. This is called the 'ridiculous cut.' It's a 20 ounce."
As the Beef Council will tell you, beef is a source of nine essential vitamins and minerals, including protein that meets the needs of health conscious consumers.
