Beef has some big time backers and I say the more the better. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be back in one minute to tell you a little about who they are.
Beef needs to be advertised and promoted like any other product offered for sale to consumers. In years past most of the advertising was in the grocery store flyers and ads, but now beef is promoted nationally through beef check off dollars. The high profile speaker for the beef check off spots is movie star, Sam Elliot and his voice has become synonymous with good eating and good cooking. One other widely known radio celebrity, Rush Limbaugh, has become one of the spokesmen for the high quality beef sold under the Allen Brothers name. There is even a specialty selection called the Rush Pack. Billionaire Donald Trump has teamed with the Sharper Image Corporation to market his own line of steaks under the trademark, of course, Trump Steaks. Trump Steaks that can be ordered on-line are USDA prime Certified Angus Beef merchandised in different collections including the Classic, Country Club, Resort and Connoisseur with prices ranging over $1,000. The Classic gives you five and a quarter pounds of three different steaks for a price of $45.50 per pound. I was relating all this promotion to my media boss; Kelly and he said maybe we should start an American Rancher line. Wouldn't work I'd eat more than we would get shipped. I'm Jeff Keane.
