You often hear that having horses can be an expensive hobby, I'm Jeff Keane and I'll be right back with some unheard of sales at the National Cutting Horse Association Futurity. Since we use our horses to manage our ranch a good saddle horse is worth it's weight in gold, even so, the sale price of a certain red road weanling at the December 2006 NCHA Futurity seems a little excessive. Here's Becky with more. That red roan weanling was a filly by the name of All Boone. A daughter by the mighty Peptoboonsmal and out the mare Boon San Kitty she brought an inconceivable of price of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, at the futurity sale, marking a new world wide record for a the highest selling Quarter Horse cutting bred weanling at public auction. The closest runner-ups in the yearling sales sold for what now seemed a meager two hundred and eighty five thousand. Have you ever heard the term, More money than you know what to do with? Well yes Jeff I have and I'd must admit while I can't fathom what would make a yearling filly worth more than several of my homes, I am intrigued by the so called investment horse people are willing to make. I know one thing for sure if I had a Peptoboonsmal horse sitting in my pasture I would feel really special, and probably put it up for sale. Hey, the new owners of All Boone may need a bunch of Pepto-Bismol if anything should happen to that filly and all they see is an insurance check, I'm Jeff Keane.
