So who will be Idaho's next Governor? How about Lt Governor or Superintendent of Public Schools. What about the two congressional district races, the ballot issues and the local contests? There are some very close races and some controversial issues. Idaho's Secretary of State Ben Ysursa says interest has picked up in recent weeks as seen by the number of requests for absentee ballots.
YSURSA "We're looking at about a 63 percent turnout of registered voters, that's out best estimate. Four years it was 61 percent. Eight years ago it was down into the high fifties."
Polls across the state are open on Election Day from 8 AM to 8 PM. Yes, the phones at the Secretary of State's office and county election offices ring off the hook with inquiries from people who don't know where to go to vote.
YSURSA "And we have a website www.idahovotes.gov that if folks want to find out where their polling place is they simply have to hit "where do I vote' on that web page and it'll tell them where they live, what district they're in and actually give them a map to the polling place."
Ysursa says there's no reason not to get out and vote tomorrow. It only helps to make the system better when more actively participate.
