San Diego is the site of this year's Produce Marketing Association meeting. The Idaho Potato Commission has always used this major produce marketing show to attract attention to the state's most famous product. Potato Commission president Frank Muir says Denise Austin's appearance in their booth at one show attracted big crowds, so did some of the cast members from Gilligan's Island. So what's up for this year? MUIR "We're bringing back Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, Dawn Wells and Dawn is bringing a very good friend of hers who everyone will know as Jeannie from 'I Dream of Jeanie,' Miss Barbara Eden." The PMA event is right around the corner. It opens Sunday, October 22nd and runs through the 24th at the San Diego Convention Center. Eden will have to skip the first day. MUIR"A play called Love Letters with Larry Hagman has been held over in a city so she won't be getting in there until Sunday night." Dawn Wells has been a big promoter of Idaho potatoes. She operates an acting camp from her home in Driggs and has been a solid backer of a music and entertainment event know as Spud Fest. Muir says its celebrities like Wells and Eden who bring produce industry people to their booth and that's his chance to let them learn more about Idaho potatoes. Today's Idaho Ag News Bill Scott
