Rose Tryon, president of American Agri Women, says that members were recently in Washington, DC, for advocacy work on Capitol Hill. She shares what this trip meant for the organization and highlights its ongoing efforts to support issues in agriculture.

“This is our advocacy trip to Washington, DC. So American agri women has been around. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary. We're a nonprofit all volunteer organization. We're the largest women's organization supporting agriculture in the nation.”

Tryon explains that the American Agri Women met with congressional staff, and she highlighted key issues on their radar, from trade and labor to regulatory challenges facing producers.

“Probably the main one is the Farm Bill. Is getting a Farm Bill so farmers have some certainty. The other one is our Fix, our Forest Act. We really need to work on forest management to try to get rid of some of these huge fires that are happening. The other one that we have is, you know, protecting private property rights in the budget reconciliation bill. Of course, ag labor is also another one for us. “

So a plethora of issues, according to Tryon, once again, Rose Tryon, president of the American Agri Women. I'm Lorrie Boyer with today's Line on Agriculture report
