Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today we are featuring travel with wine in mind.
Many folks will tell you that eastern Washington wine country is what Napa or Sonoma was like twenty years, or more, ago. One of the small towns that captures that flavor is Walla Walla WA. It is home to several very nice Bed and Brekfasts, Hotels and Inns. One location that is particularly alluring is the Inn at Abeja. The Inn itself is charming but a special cache' is that it is also home to one of Walla Walla's most distinctive wineries Abeja. It makes sense that if you are going to Walla Walla to visit wine country you might want to stay at a winery. This is truly a special adult get away. The Inn is located in a beautifully restored farm just a few miles outside of town at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Five guest houses are the result of elegant conversions of the farm's outbuildings. The winery is housed in the beautifully restored and modernized barn. And the price of your stay includes a lovely breakfast. Each guest house has its own kitchen, so if you want to shop at the local produce shops and specialty markets you can create your own wine country dinner. Although the Inn at Abeja is closed each year from December twentieth to March first reservations for the remainder of the year fill up quickly. Reservations for 2007 will be open this year beginning on October the first. And you know what they say about those of you who hesitate. And thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
