Tariffs remain a key focus as the Trump administration takes significant steps in trade policy. National Association of Wheat Growers, President Keeff explains the organization's efforts to navigate the evolving tariff landscape and advocate for wheat producers.

“Wheat Growers, rely heavily on trade. Approximately 50% of our annual production is for export in this country and not understands that that President Trump is working towards fair trade, and we're glad to see that this is something that's important to the to the administration, and we look forward to working with them as as we work through the process, and we're always advocating for legislation that promotes trade.”

In addition to working on trade, Felty says that nog has partnered with Texas A&M and Colorado State University to produce a wheat life cycle assessment.

It hasn't formally been released yet, but we are starting the rollout, and we're going to have pamphlets and brochures. And what we can report is wheat production has improved in terms of greenhouse gas footprint, soil erosion, energy use and water use. And while we know that wheat acres have declined over this period, our production has increased, and we really have a good story to tell through this LCA.
