April 3 Grant Deadline for NRCS Partnership Proposals
With California Ag Today, I am Haylie Shipp. This is the Ag Information Network. An update with a deadline as we get into your agricultural news. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in California is now inviting applications for “Partnership Proposals” focused on improving the resiliency of California agriculture. Applications for these cooperative agreement proposals are due April 3.
If you’re in the grant world, it’s important to note that one of the options, a cooperative agreement, has no match and can provide between $25 and $75,000. A contribution agreement does require a match but can secure you as much as $150,000.
The conservation priorities of focus are numerous but could include adapting to climate change consequences, carbon sequestration, increased food system resiliency, increasing food security, fostering a culture of civil rights, or protecting agricultural heath.
Again the deadline is Wednesday! Details can be found at https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/news/nrcs-california-invites-applications-for-partnership-proposals-focusing-on-resiliency-of. Emphasis will be given to projects that provide direct technical assistance to NRCS staff in the implementation of Farm Bill conservation programs.
