“We've worked on nutrition policy, environmental sustainability, we've worked a lot on the issue of the dietary guidelines. And those are under development right now. So a variety of opportunities and then National Milk also focused on the things that it continue only by itself and that is working on the next farm bill, as well as reforming the federal milk marketing order program. Other big
news that came from the annual meeting was the farewell given to retiring president and CEO Jim Mulhern. He announced earlier in the summer that he is retiring at the end of this year. And so this was his last time in person in front of our members, and then also sort of debut for his successor, a guy named Gregg Doud, who is our current chief operating officer. He came on board at the end of the summer, and then he will take over as president and CEO in January."
Once again, that was Chris Galen, Senior Vice President of member services and governance with the National Milk Producers Federation. He adds that doubt unveiled his vision for the organization aiming to strategically position the dairy sector to take advantage of global opportunities when it comes to demand for proteins.
