AM Radio in Every Vehicle Act-NFU
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The National Farmers Union is one of many organizations backing the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act” out in Washington, D.C.Mike Stranz, vice president of advocacy for the National Farmers Union, says everyone does better when they have a lot of choices, including when they look for information …
STRANZ … “Absolutely. And that’s the thing with this (Fairness for Farmers) campaign and the issue itself of competition. We know that farmers do better if we have many options for, for instance, where they can sell their livestock. Farmers do better when they have many options for who they’re buying inputs from. Farmers and communities do better if they have different choices and options when they’re listening to the radio and finding information. That’s why the AM radio efforts are important to keep that local information in place, easy to access, and something that all can enjoy.”
Stranz says this is an important issue that NFU is working on right now with hopes of getting Congressional support …
STRANZ … “We’ve raised this issue at the national level among members of Congress and across the administration as Farmers Union is deeply concerned about the situation and want to advance the AM radio bill too. So, it’s been something we’re talking about at the federal level across D.C.”
That was Mike Stranz, vice president of advocacy at the National Farmers Union, talking with us about the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act.
