“Happy Fiftieth” well wishes are in order for Seal of Cotton trademark. Kim Kitchings, Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing at Cotton Incorporated..

"We are delighted to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Seal of Cotton. It was created in 1973 to convert an agricultural commodity product into a well-known consumer brand.”

Today, the Seal of Cotton is used by over 950 brands in nearly 70 countries.

“For decades now, more than 8 out of 10 consumers know exactly what they symbol of cotton means, what it represents, and how important it is to their daily activities and for choosing the most comfortable, highest quality, and most sustainable apparel.”

With sustainability as a buzz word and its definition elusive, Kim says cotton delivers whether you define it as durability or earth-friendly.

She says they’re also focusing on the new generation…

“We’re introducing it to them, too, in a way that it’s fresh and new and innovative in things that they do every day.”

Brand partnerships at retail and continued TV ads are all part of that campaign.

Happy 50th to the Seal of Cotton!
