The National Association of Conservation Districts has outreach and technical assistance funding available for local conservation districts through a competitive grant process. NACD President, Kim Lafleur.

“That Outreach and Technical Assistance Grant Program provides for conservation districts to get boots on the ground. And producers can only have access to programs if there's the staff to provide that knowledge base. This year approximately $15 million is available for conservation districts, state or territory associations, Resource Conservation and Development Councils, as well as tribal organizations that they can apply for this competitive funding to provide staffing in local field offices to provide that technical assistance.”

LeFleur says this program is unique and she explains why.

“It’s not just a one entity that's applying for the program. Any African needs to work with their state or territory Conservation District partnership and that partnership helped set the priorities of where that funding and that allocation should go.”

Grants are being accepted now through August 6. For more information, go to NACDnet.org and search for the Outreach and Technical Assistance page.
