The Florida Tomato Committee will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, May 10, for tomato producers to nominate fellow growers or themselves to serve on the Committee for a two-year term, from September 2023 to September 2025. The FTC is a federal marketing order that regulates the handling of Florida tomatoes and supports the industry through research and promotion efforts. https://bit.ly/3MAZQ1c

On March 29, Georgia 4-H dedicated the Thomas F. Rodgers Administration Building at Rock Eagle 4-H Center to honor the former Georgia 4-H state leader. Rodgers served as the leader of Georgia 4-H from 1978 to 1993 and championed the renovation of Rock Eagle 4-H Center during his tenure. https://bit.ly/3mtKPDB

And the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries has announced that they will begin administering the Black Vulture Depredation Sub-Permit program to protect livestock. Livestock producers experiencing depredation from black vultures may apply for this no cost permit to take up to three birds.
