Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as most of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I just don't drink wine that I don't like. Today I want to share a wine that we just recently had with fresh cracked Dungeness crab.
Okay so one of our favorite things to do is have fresh cracked crab air freighted to our home. We lay down plastic and newspaper set out the crab crackers and scissors. We dive in with lots of wine on the side of course. One of the wine's that went cery well with this venture last Friday night was the Navarro Pinot Gris. Navarro is an established winery from California and the Pinot Gris is a bit fuller bodied than what I am used to from Oregon but it was a delight with the crab. The 2004 Navarro Vineyards Pinot Gris was grown in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino and it is dry with a slightly restrained nose but it was complex and still had a great deal of depth when I tasted it. Maybe I liked it because it was so different from the Alsace or the Oregon Pinot Gris that we normally drink with crab. It made me want to do a Pinot Gris tasting! I would recommend it for the summer. Collect a few bottles from different regions around the world and invite your friends! Remember to share your new favorite wine recommendation with me Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
