Yesterday, Chad Hood and two buddies were hunting moose with a river nearby. We pick up the story from there. Speaker2: I hear a shot go off and I'm like, Oh, great. I kind of start making my way towards where he's at and I hear a second shot and I'm like, Uh oh, that can't be good. So I hustled there and I see his dad waving his hands at me like I got a moose down. But it's floating down the river. And so as it turns out, he was positioned for this one Bull Moose. And he turns around and he sees another Bull Moose walking up the other side of the river. He shoots the moose on the other side of the river, maybe eight, ten feet up the shore and felt like it was a good hit. And apparently the moose had just enough left for it, kind of walked down and flopped into the river, starts floating downstream. At that point, we were all pretty concerned that we were going to lose the moose because he felt like it had actually sunk. I figured there'd be enough air trapped in the bird that it would float downstream. And so thankfully we had this jet boat and we start motoring down the river and our hearts all were just sunk. And we just like we lost this moose and we get about a mile downstream. And my friend was like, I think that a log saw something in the river and we got closer and sure enough, it was that bull moose floating down the river. It probably made it at least a mile from when he shot it to when we could actually get there. So I clean it up by lying on the boat and I hooked it around its antlers and we drag it to shore the shortest pack out of my life. Speaker1: And a special experience for Chad's friends. Dad.
