Longtime, very good friend Chad Hood has spent endless amounts of time up in Alaska hunting and fishing. But on this episode, he stayed put in Idaho, where he lives and has a tale about a moose hunt. “I had an opportunity this fall to go help a friend and his dad on a moose hunt. We were hunting a major river corridor for our Bull moose. My friend's dad had the tags, so we were hunting with a jet boat, but we were camped out for four or five nights. Beautiful country. Of course. We were ready to head off in the jet boat and get his dad set up in an area that we'd been seeing a lot of sign and activity. And my friend actually, he had to pause for a minute and he had to go to the bathroom. I was sitting on the boat with my friend's dad and we looked downstream from camp and we see this stump move and was like, Wait, that's not a stump, that's a bull moose. And so the moose proceeded to swim across the river. And I ran up to camp and told my friend, you know, pinch it off, we've got to get going. And so we positioned me on kind of the top of the island where we saw this moose going. And he got his dad set up in a nice shooting lane down in a slew. And so we just kind of waited. We were waiting, hoping for the best that this moose would come out. And it was a nice bull moose for that country. Full, mature moose. I don't know. About 10 minutes, go by, hear a shot, go off. And I'm like, Oh, great. Speaker1: No, it's not just as simple as that. What did you hear? What happened tomorrow?
