Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today is food and wine pairing day. On today's program, we are going to talk about feeding extended stay guests. My nephew is getting married in a couple of weeks and that means lots of out of towners will be staying with us. Let's talk about what to feed them and of course what wine goes well with it.
Well, when you have a house full of people, I think buffet and barbecue are the two magic words. It is easy to marinate flank steaks and sides of salmon and wrap up veggies all to go on the grill. Open simple wines like Chardonnay and Merlot they are certain crowd pleasers. So that folks can make themselves sandwiches and have something on the side, I make pasta salads ahead of time and stick them in the frig. We keep low alcohol wines like Riesling just for the lunchtime crowd. One of my favorite and easy meals is to grill things like chicken breasts and prawns to top a Caesar Salad. When served with garlic bread and Pinot Grigio you have a perfectly satisfying and easy dinner for a crowd. This is also a great time to drop a turkey breast with pesto into the crock-pot That way Pinot Grigio or Chianti Classico will be perfect. But most of all enjoy your guests! Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
