How fun is this? Raised on a farm. Involved in FFA. You go off to college and realized you’ve lost touch with the agriculture world. So then you enter your first beauty pageant for Miss Agriculture USA and win? Such was the case for Macy Wehri. I spoke with her last week…

“When I saw Miss Agriculture, I thought - hey - this is a great way to get back into agriculture and then, plus, have a little fun with it too. Because, I mean, what’s not fun about having a crown and sash.”

Miss Agriculture USA is a national nonprofit queen organization that was started in 2018.

“There were three things we had to do beforehand, so our essay, our photogenic, and our interview. And then we had to do all the rest down in Ohio where I competed against eight other girls. We competed in speech, formal wear, impromptu question, ag ware…all of these fun competitions that are focused on agriculture.”

Macy Wehri way up from the state of North Dakota took the crown and will now have a year to do with it what she will…including some traveling advocating on her platform of farm safety. State queens did include some from our region. To check them out, visit MissAgricultureUSA.org.
