This week a satellite media event was held at Blackbeard's Ranch in SW Florida to help educate consumers about sustainability efforts by America's beef cattle producers to produce high-quality, delicious beef.

The event featured Myakka City, Fl. rancher Jim Strickland and Celebrity Chef Hugh Acheson.

"Being profitable, you have to look at all of those things that you can glean from the land that we operate, do it conservatively, do it with the idea that future generations are going to inherit it," said Strickland. "But, we come back to profitability. If we are profitable, we will be here, especially in Florida, where we have a thousand new people coming every day."

Blackbeard's Ranch was the 2019 National Environmental Stewardship Award winner.
