Ethanol looks good
There good news for farmers concerning ethanol. It seems that all the naysayers who originally claimed that it took more energy to produce the fuel than the fuel saved didn't take into account the ethanol by products like animals feeds, distiller grains and oils whose benefits displaced the energy used to produce ethanol. ( now That's is a mouthful.) In a new study scientists at Cal-Berkely have determined that there is actually a 20 percent energy gain when fossil fuels are used to make ethanol rather then gas and there will be even more as farmers become more efficient at growing green energy. I have been a vocal advocate all along for Biodiesel fuel like E85 because I believe it will provide a renaissance for rural America not to mention cut the apron strings to our foreign oil dependency. This is great news for the ag industry that the ethanol movement continues to gain steam, especially in the farm belt . I'm Susan Allen and this is Food Forethought.
