Soil Health and Valent Pt 4

Valent’s Mike Riffle says we’ve gone through learning curves before, but here we are again making major improvements … to the way we grow our crops …
RIFFLE … “I tell people all the time, if you at, there’s a book called “Paradigm Shift” and it was written by Thomas Kuhn, a famous scientist about, oh gosh, probably 30 years ago, and he talks about paradigm shift. If you look at agriculture, we had the ‘Green Revolution’ and that was a paradigm shift. And then we had the ‘Genetic Shift,’ that was a paradigm shift, and we’re still kind of right in the middle of that when there’s so much more to learn.”
We have more to learn Riffle says, but it’s a very natural process …
RIFFLE … “I’ll relate it to one thing that people know about lately, and that’s the gut microbiome. Forever, we didn’t know what happened in our gut and we had no clue about what it meant for our overall health. And, it turns out that it effects our health in many, many different ways, our gut microbiome. So the same thing is true for the soil microbiome. It’s the same thing.”
Riffle says it fits well with other changes we’re making …
RIFFLE … “You marry all this information with precision agriculture, and they’re already doing it. And, man, my gosh, look what a farmer has to be now. They have to be a scientist, and engineer, an agronomist, a marketer, a boss, I mean we’re asking a lot.”
