Elections for new board members for the Almond Board of California is Underway

Bunnie Ibrahim, is the Senior Analyst Government Affairs for the Almond Board of California. “Ballots went out on April 29th we're hoping that all of the growers and handlers will respond. We need the ballots back by May 27th,” Ibrahim said.

 

Ibrahim described some of their positions that are open this year. “We have one independent grower member and alternate position and then we have two independent handler member and alternate positions this year,” she said. “We're really excited that we have so many industry members willing to donate their time and expertise to further the almond industry's continued success.”

 

Ibrahim said that the Almond Board is very engaged with the industry. “Yes, and our growers and our other industry members are very engaged with the Almond Board. We have so many industry members who donate their time on our committees as well as the board.

 

Ibrahim said that the almond board is hoping that all the ballots get returned

“It’s so important for growers and handlers to vote and return their ballots so that they have a voice represented on the board. This year, the term starts August 1st and is aligned with the crop year,” she said.

 

And remember, May 27th is the deadline for getting the ballots back.
