Now that the holiday season is behind us, it’s time for America’s sheep and wool producers to turn their attention to the 155th Annual ASI Convention – Jan. 22-25 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Burdell Johnson is a past ASI president from Tuttle, North Dakota and says the convention is also a great opportunity for young and beginning sheep producers.

"Yeah, we'd like to see all the young people that are in the sheep industry come on down and see our program" said Johnson. "It's for young entrepreneurs, a group that's really been successful. We've got some entertainment involved, but we're also there to learn and and meet new people and learn from the new people you meet. We've got some technology things going on we're going to educate people on. And we also got a kind of a wool Olympics and have some teams competing. Actually it's an educational thing if you're in the wool business. We've got things like that going on the whole time plus you're involved with the whole convention. If you're a young entrepreneur or just getting started please come and check it out. And We've got scholarships, you know, to help pay for some of the costs coming in."

ASI is offering $200 scholarships to help offset the cost of full registration. For more convention information, visit the American Sheep Industry’s website at www.sheepusa.org.
