I thought the whole acrylamide issue with food had been buried a couple of years back. Here they are again rearing their ugly heads. About 2002 the light bulb went on that acrylamide exist in many cooked foods, like French fries, now we know that their presence looms even larger, in at least 38 percent of the food we eat, even non-cooked items like nuts olives and asparagus carry traces of the substance. Remember when some trigger- happy Swedish Scientists tried to convince us that acrylamide caused cancer, but got a bit of mud on their faces when it was discovered that a person would have to eat 182 pounds of french fries every day for the rest of their lives to have the same cancer ratio of lab rats. So what in the world would posses California's Attorney General Bill Lockyer to request a court order mandating fast food restaurants put warning labels on French Fries and potato chips? With all the things in California that warrant a warning label, potato chips should be the least of our worries.
