Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. You see I simply do not waste my time or the calories drinking wine that I do not like. A friend sent me an email as she was sipping on her new favorite Chardonnay and she seemed so in love with it I had to seek it out.
Friends and acquaintances are often introducing me to new wines and sometimes I am so grateful that I have to buy them a bottle just to say thank you for the introduction. This was the case with a Chardonnay from a winery by the name of Forgeron Cellars, located in Walla Walla Washington. Winemaker Marie-Eve is a tiny woman with a big idea of how wine can be made in Washington. She is patient and selects her fruit carefully. I have always been a fan of her red wines and I am ashamed to say that I overlooked the whites. Upon the recommendation of a friend I tasted the 2003 Chardonnay. It is my new favorite Chardonnay for certain. Although the oak is evident, it is restrained enough that it compliments and accentuates the fruit rather than rolling right over it. I haven't had the 2004 vintage but I hear it has been released and I for one am looking oh so forward to enjoying it. You can find out more about the wines by visiting the website at Forgeron Cellars .com and thank all of you for joining me on toady's Vine to Wine.
