Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran, and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I simply do not drink wines that I do not like.
Recently we had a dinner party in which I pulled out domestic and imported wines to offer an array of styles and kinds of wines. Two wines stood out for very different reasons. First, he Pinot Noir made by Gary Farrell from the Russian River Valley of California, had finesse to spare and impressed everyone at the table. I would say that there is not a single wine from this winery that I do not enjoy thoroughly. That fact that my guests enjoyed it did not surprise me. The second wine that was a Cabernet Sauvignon made by Robert Karl Cellars from Washington state. The wine was delicious with its own finesse that included smooth tannins and fruit driven quality that really shows off some of what Washington state is capable of. It was an instant hit with the Cabernet Sauvignon lovers in the group. Less than a week later I attended a wine tasting and was treated to the upcoming vintage of Robert Karl Cabernet Sauvignon. It was excellent and is soon to be released. You can bet I will be buying some to put into my cellar.
