Land Management and Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable

Land Management and Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable

Land Management and Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

Congressman Dan Newhouse has been active when it comes to the wildfire disasters here in the state. This week he's reaching out to constituents with the Land Management and Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable.

NEWHOUSE: It's going to be up in Okanagan on Thursday, March 31st. It'll be from 6pm to 7:30 pm. It'll be free, open to the public and I'm very happy to be able to have in attendance the Chairman of Committee on Agriculture's Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry, Mr. Glen Thompson from the state of Pennsylvania will be there so my goal here is to let the public share their concerns with Mr. Thompson but also I wanted to make sure that as many people as possible who are in decision making positions see first hand what it is we are experiencing here in Central Washington as it relates to these catastrophic fires.

Newhouse says that a picture or a visit in this case, is worth a thousand words

NEWHOUSE: And I also want to make sure that people of Central Washington can share their concerns and prospectives face-to-face.

The event will be held at the Okanogan County Fairgrounds and will include roundtable panelists Mike Williams with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and T.J. Dargan - Federal Coordinating Officer, FEMA Region X.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
