Seeking Farm Mom of the Year Nominations

Do you know a farm mom that deserves some recognition for all of her hard work, commitment and effort on making her family’s operation successful? Well it is time for nominations to the seventh annual America’s Farmers’ Mom of the Year contest. Here is 2015’s Farm Mom of the Year and Oregon farmer Shelly Boshart Davis sharing
Davis: “It’s been a wonderful year. I’ve been able to talk about ag. I’ve been able to talk about Oregon agriculture. A lot of times, people even say, “There is farming in Oregon?” Yes, there is a lot of farming in agriculture. So I’ve been able to talk about that and that has been my favorite part of being Farm Mom of the Year.”
She says that she also had the opportunity to speak on a local and national level and really enjoyed having school children tour her farm as well.
Nominations for the 2016 Farm Mom of the Year are open from now through March 29, 2016. Anyone can enter their favorite farm mom, whether it’s you mom, sister, aunt, daughter, friend or community member. Just visit AmericasFarmers.com during the nomination period and submit a brief essay online or by mail that explains how the nominated farm mom contributes to each of four areas -- her family, farm, community and the agriculture industry.
A panel of judges from American Agri-Women will once again review nominations and help Monsanto select five regional winners.
