Attend April's Cattlemen's Boot Camp

Ranchers are continually examining ways to become more efficient and improving their bottom line. There will be a Cattlemen’s Boot Camp held at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, Washington April 15-16th. and will provide ranchers timely information presented by academic and industry professionals. Washington State University Associate Professor of Animal Science and Extension Specialist Dr. Mark Nelson shares why producers should consider attending.
Nelson: “I feel very strongly with the economic outlook that we have for 2016 that now is the time to look at improved tools and technics to reduce costs or increase profitability or increase efficiency. That is why I think regardless of the breed or whether they are commercial cattlemen — I think there will be some tremendous information to help beef producers at this conference.”
Open to all cattle producers, it is hosted by the American Angus Association in partnership with Washington State University. The workshop is packed with pertinent information. Friday evening's topic is forage management and several of the speakers will address managing land and pasture following a wildfire. Saturday’s agenda includes bull selection, reproductive technologies, genetic markets, and much more.
Registration deadline is March 1st and there are no walk up registrations, so it is important to register ahead of time. Go to angus.org and click on events tab to register for this event.
