Results of the Farm Toys For Tots Campaign

Four agvocates —- Ryan Goodman, Diana Pritchard, Carrie Mess and Katie Pinke — took a negative effort by animal rightists and vegans to stop Walmart from selling a toy livestock hauler and successfully made it positive by raising money to donate farm toys to the Toys for Tots program through a social media campaign. Their goal was to raise $5,000 and they surpassed that in a mere 28 hours. AgVocate Ryan Goodman shares their results.
Goodman: “So with that with a little over $7,000 that we ended up collecting, we were able to recruit 21 helpers — or volunteer elves if you will — from different locations from across the country. We wanted to spread it to different locations so that every region of the country was covered. We were able to donate approximately 280 toys with that money and all of it was donated to Toys for Tots around the country.”
Goodman continues with another positive element of this campaign that has spread additional Christmas cheer.
Goodman: “The impact went much further than the money that was donated to the Go Fund Me for the Farm Toys for Tots idea. We’ve got pictures from people across the country that really liked the idea and took their own initiative to purchase farm toys in their local area on their own and donate them to Toys For Tots donations across the country. So this is definitely something that we hope we will do again next year and be able to collect farm toys into them into the hands of kids across the country.”
