Nominations Are Open. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.

Nominations are now being accepted for the Legends of Washington Wine Hall of Fame. Abbey Cameron with the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center has more.

CAMERON: This will be the tenth year of the Legends of Washington Hall of Fame so we're really excited to celebrate that and honor another individual who's made a lasting and significant impact on this industry.

Cameron talks about the criteria for nominating someone.

CAMERON: There are a few different categories of the industry which the legend must fall into including winemaker, winery owner, researcher, mentor, philanthropist, journalist. Other qualifications are that the individual must have been both in the industry and in the State of Washington for at least 25 years so we're looking for some lasting impact and longevity. And then the other requirement is that others in the industry would view this individual as a legend. We do look for one of two letters of support to go along with the nomination to show that.

If you do have someone in mind that you'd like to nominate, better get busy.

CAMERON: The nominations are open until December 30th. We can receive them by mail or email. The nominations will then be reviewed by a committee that will consist of the current legends along with an equal number of Clore Center board members.

That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
