Cattle Prices Slowly Dipping
I'm Tommy Allen with the Market Line Report for November 9th. Trade across the board is slowing as we come into the fall, cattle prices slowly dipping but still keeping afloat. Gregg Sanders shares the weekly National cattle summary. Sanders- "Feeder cattle weekly summary for Washington, Oregon and Idaho. 1800 head of feeder cattle trade this week compared to last Friday. Feeder cattle were week and light test. Most trades were done early in the week. Trading remained slow this week with light demand as a result to lower futures and lower slaughter cattle market most of the week. Feeder steers medium to large frame 1 and 2's current FOB price 600 lbs 1.89 and 1.90 in Washington and Oregon" Chicago December Wheat ended last week down 3, at 522 1/4. December corn ended the day down 1 1/2, at 373. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for Nov, were dn 43-8, ranging from 5-23 ¼ to 5-62 even. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Nov. were up 9 1/4, ranging from 6-1/4 to 6-05 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Nov. were up 2 1/2, ranging from 6-21 3/4 to 6-68 3/4. Dec. live cattle closed last week up 45 cents, at 134.85. Nov. Feeder cattle were up 18 ½ cents, at 181.80. Nov. class III milk was down a penny, at 15-61.
