Thanks KayDee. Rob Powers, is a veteran, founder and volunteer with the American 300 Foundation. What is that you ask?

POWERS: American 300 was established back in 2006 with a mission of bringing a kind of a new form of resiliency programming to service members around the world. We do it through unique guests that possess amazing life stories. Stories of having achieved excellence. Stories of having to overcome obstacles and bringing these individuals to units and allowing these special guests the opportunity to slow things down and share their own personal life stories.

Powers says when the commander found out he had connections to some world class cowboys and cowgirls.

POWERS: He said you know you really ought to the Marine Mountain Warfare Training Center, it’s the only equestrian program we have in the entire Department of Defense. We found ourselves utilizing some of these world champion cowboys that we bring out to share their stories of perseverance and here we have found that our guests are now bing requested to perform more of a subject matter expertise type of role
