Registered Dietician Crystal Wilson tells us why she’s proud to work for United Dairymen of Idaho. “I am very proud. I have benefited from all that the dairy farmers have done throughout my career. Idaho's dairy farm families have a proud heritage of providing healthy and wholesome dairy products that are enjoyed by people within and outside of Idaho’s borders. Through the National Dairy Council and the Idaho Dairy Council, dairy farm families have supported child nutrition research, education and communication for almost 100 years. When you look at this commitment, it really supports the in school nutrition and activity programs. It is a partnership between National Dairy Council, the National Football League and the United States Department of Education and focuses on getting children to consume nutrient rich foods and be physically active for 60 minutes a day. Idaho dairy families also supply nutrition education curriculum at no cost to Idaho educators. This allows teachers to integrate health and wellness into the classroom while meeting common course standards. Idaho dairy farm families also support continuing education opportunities for key thought leaders such as dietitians, physicians, nurses and educators. Idaho Dairy Council and the rest of the industry work together to foster environmental responsibility while providing nutritious dairy products and supporting communities. I am really proud to be able to work for an organization that does all of that for its community.
