Wheat and Corn Both Lower on Friday

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for January 20, 2014.

Both corn and wheat ended lower on Friday. From the floor of the CME Group, Frank Lesh shares his observations of Friday's markets.

Lesh: "Since Friday was end of week we look at where we stand at the end of the week and March corn was down8 and 3/4 cents for the week. Wheat was down 9 and 1/4 on Friday's trade and down 5 and 1/2 for the week's trade. There is a lot of wheat in the market right now. Wheat prices again down on the week and down here at 3 and 1/2 year lows. Both India and Ukraine expect their wheat production to achieve records this year."

Chicago March Wheat ended Friday down 9 and 1/4 cents at 5-63 and 1/2. March corn ended the day down 4 cents at 4-24.??Portland prices for soft white white were down 4 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-76 and 3/4. White club wheat prices were down 4 and 1/4 to 9 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-10 and 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 3 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-63 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 3 and 3/4 to 23 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-72 and 3/4.

?February live cattle were up 20 cents Friday at 140-35. March Feeder cattle were down 32 and half cents at 167-92 and half. February class III milk was up 13 cents at 21-92.
