To get a hands-on opportunity to go to through these operations including: a feed mill, a dairy operation -- from hutch/baby calves all the way to springer heifers; to feedlot; to a research facility and then also a talk from the Caine Teaching facility to learn what is going on there."

The following morning in LaGrande the 10th Annual Cattlemen's Winter School will begin.

If you are interested in participated in this free tour -- all you need to do is register by January 3rd with the Oregon Cattlemen's Association.

Rowan adds this is an unique opportunity for young cattle producers in Oregon, Idaho and Washington.

Rowan: "The purpose of this whole tour is to give these young people to a chance to really see what is going on in agriculture, talk to the people involved in agriculture, learn about internships, learn about what they need to do to be successful in agriculture."
