Yesterday I introduced you to Bob Schmidt, owner of Mack's Lure in Wenatchee, WA. Bob mentioned that he had a couple of lures, first the smile blade and then the wedding ring. I asked him to tell me if they were useful for Northwest anglers. "Any specific fish that they are tuned to, you said Walleye. Yes, the smile blade was introduced into the Walleye market and did extremely well because of not adding weight but adding a lot of flash and attraction and being able to go so slow which they often like to do for Walleye. It has caught on in other markets. A lot of guys put it in front of their eggs for salmon fishing, steelhead fishing, they use it for trout just because you're able to add the extra action and flash without adding weight and being able to do wide rates of speed with it run fast to the ultra-slow that you cannot do with anything else. It has proven to be very good on every species that we have introduced it into. The wedding ring is primarily used in the trout and kokanee markets although we do have it on some Walleye lures. Any species that likes that extra flash that a crystal stone will provide, it will work for.
