Legends of Washington Wine. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
It's that time again. Time to nominate your choice for the 2014 Legends of Washington Wine Hall of Fame. Abby Cameron is the Director of Events and Marketing for the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center.
CAMERON: This is our main annual fundraiser and it happens every August. It's been a great way for us to recognize folks who've been kind of pioneers in the industry. The criteria are that these people have been part of the Washington wine industry for 25 years and they get inducted into the Washington Wine hall of Fame and then we have a very nice gala event every August to hold their induction and also use that as a fundraiser where we have a great auction and just a really nice evening at the Clore Center.
She says there have been a few changes this year.
CAMERON: The panel review is independent. We are going to invite all of our legend inductees to be reviewers and that is a little bit of a change from previous years. Because of the criteria that they've been in the business for 25 years by having the previous legends review the nominations they will have known each others history and probably have some familiarity with peoples work and help the reviewing process so we're excited about that.
