Last week when I asked Tony Baker from the Sportsman's Warehouse Store in Medford, Oregon about deer season and his shooter's preferences, he said there are so many different combinations where you can buy a rifle and a scope and it all comes down to your personal preference. One of their more popular options on the rifle side is the Remington Model 700. So I wondered about scopes. "I kind of lean towards the higher and scopes, Vortex or Leupold type scopes. We sell a lot of Vortex scopes in this store Because they have great warranties. Their warranty is second to none. In the event that it is dropped or damaged for any reason, the company will repair or replace the scope at no charge to the customer. That warrantee is transferable to anyone who possesses it. What about pricing? The standard Vortex scope the 3x9 or 4 x 12 is under $200. The Leupold's, usually in the $300-$450 range for the 3x9 or 4 x 12. And what about the rules for muley hunting? I understand that it is a draw tag only.
