Grain Markets End Mixed

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 4, 2013. ? The overnight session saw mostly higher trade for corn, soybeans, and wheat but by midday Tuesday, corn futures reversed lower and this stalled any hope of a wheat rally. Wheat vs. corn spreads edged higher as the market becomes more certain that the US will have a healthy supply of corn in 2013/14. From the floor of the CME Group, Joe Vaclavik shares his observations of Tuesday's markets. Vaclavik "Grain markets were mixed on Tuesday the day after Labor Day. We opened Monday night sharply higher across the board -- soybeans wheat and corn sharply higher. The last man standing here today here on Tuesday was the soybean market." Chicago December Wheat ended Tuesday down 6 and 3/4 cents at 6-47 and 1/4. December corn ended the day down 6 3/4 cents at 4-75 and 1/4.??Portland prices for soft white wheat were unchanged to down a nickel at mostly 7-30 and 3/4.
