2-18 IAT Extension programs

 University of Idaho shares knowledge with non-university folks.

University of Idaho Extension programs coming up in the next weeks  and recurring throughout the year can be of great value for you or someone you know in the community. The “Master Composter and Recycler” program. This class could be of great interest for city or county officials, as well as teachers, students and general public. The seven-session weekly series cover topics including saving money by reducing landfill shipments and reducing energy use, how to reduce and reuse resources, rain and grey water collection and use, composting, vermicomposting, and other topics.

The program offers a lot of resources and trains participants as a community resource in topics related to environmental education. University of Idaho Extension educator Dr. Mario E. de Haro-Martí describes some of the goals and objectives. “The “Master Composter and Recycler” program, I offer that every other year, and it is a trainer to trainer program that is designed to train individuals so that they can serve as a community resource on environmental education. Most of the topics are related to urban waste management and resources.
