Wheat Market Ends Day Positive

Wheat Market Ends Day Positive

December Chicago wheat ended the day in positive territory along with KC and Minneapolis wheat. The dry conditions in the western and northern plains are raising concerns that some of the crop may not germinate ahead of winter dormancy. From the floor of the CME Group, Todd Horwitz shares his observations of Monday’s markets.
Horwitz: “All eyes are really going to be focused on A) the election and B) the big crop report at the end of the week and the supply and demand report. So we’re going to start see that they are probably going to take some of the volitty out of these grains, we’re going to probably be kind of stagnant. Probably get some reaction off the election, but really everyone is going to be sitting back and waiting to see what these reports are going to bring us on Friday.”

Chicago December Wheat ended Monday up 1 and 1/2 cents at 8-66. December corn ended the day down 4 cents at 7-35 and 1/2.

Portland prices for soft white wheat and club wheat were up 5 and 1/2 to 11 cents at mostly 8-83. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11.5 pct protein prices were up 1/4 of a cent at mostly 9-94. DNS wheat with 14 pct protein prices were down 1/4 of a cent at mostly 10-27.
December live cattle were down Monday 15 cents at 125-28. November Feeder cattle were unchanged at 144-90. November class III milk was down a penny at 21-19.
