Autumn Perfect Weather for Beef Tailgating
Well it is finally beginning to feel like autumn, and a favorite past time of many of us is tailgating at football games. After the break we’ll get some great tailgating ideas, I’m KayDee Gilkey with Open Range.?
Idaho Beef Council Executive Director Traci Bracco shares more about how you can score big at your tailgates all season long.
Bracco: “Beef is the perfect grab and go food item for celebrating before, during or after a big game. Its versatility allows for different meal plans. Beef can be grilled, it can be slow cooked or even oven roasted. The one thing we know when it comes to game day that no one wants to be busy cooking during the pre-game excitement and beef makes it really easy. Things like chili you can prepare ahead of time. With October being National Chili month it is a perfect time to serve your fans and guests chili. It is easy to prepare and like I said you can put it in a crockpot or slow cooker and it is good to go all game long.”

Bracco shares several food safety reminders.
Bracco: “It is always important to remember things like have anti-bacterial soap on hand and wet wipes and things like that so that you are always keeping your hands clean. If you do have raw meat make sure you don’t cross contaminate with your vegetables.”
