Energy Savings General Store

Energy Savings General Store

Energy Savings General Store. I’m Greg Martin as Line On Agriculture presents the Harvest Clean Energy Report.

Years ago when you wanted to pick up supplies you went to the general store. You could get pretty much anything from tack and ammo to fabric and food. You knew you could get it all in one place. Steve Carpentier, co-owner of Energy Unlimited in Sandy, Oregon is kind of like the general store of energy projects.

CARPENTIER: Energy Unlimited is a general contractor that performs work in the energy efficiency and renewable energy field. We do solar, wind and energy efficiency projects. We focus on anything from solar electric, commercial and residential to solar hot water, residential and small commercial size wind turbines and then also energy retrofit. Which includes things like air sealing, insulation, tightening up the thermal envelop on residential and commercial properties. We do high efficiency water heating systems, we also do ductless heating systems and high efficiency HVAC stuff.

You get the idea that pretty much anything is handled by Energy Unlimited.

CARPENTIER: We think that having someone that is sort of an expert in a lot of these different fields within our organization and allows us to work with the customer for a whole home solution and what that means is that each customers situation is different. We’re able to work with our customers and provide them with the best bang for their buck as far as energy efficiency work goes.

Energy Unlimited has come up with a very novel way of promoting energy savings with a quarterly giveaway.

CARPENTIER: It’s more of community outreach program. Each quarter we’re asking the community to help us choose a family that is need of assistance on weatherizing their house to help them get through the cold winter months and be a little bit more comfortable and save energy on their electric bills.

Carpentier says he hopes it will be the impetus for other companies to reach out to their communities as well. Contact them online at energyunlimitedllc.com.
