Angus Trading Post

A new E-bay style auction website provides an opportunity for those interested in either buying or selling Angus cattle, semen and frozen embryos to browse or market from the convenience of their own home. After the break we will learn more about the Angus Trading Post, I’m KayDee Gilkey with Open Range.

Angus Production Incorporated Manager Terry Cotton shares more about this unique website and the advantages it brings to both buyers and sellers.??

Cotton: “It has a lot more built-in conveniences that you wouldn’t necessarily have in just a sale catalogue. You can log on, you can have your own pictures or series of pictures. You can have a video posted to that site giving people the ability to look at these animals move, see them from different angles. The other systems out there today, deal with the actual live system of the auction being held where people can interact with a live auction. This one, you move at your own pace, in a timed auction format that may take over a three-to-four-day period.”

Cotton says there is not a listing fee involved, but rather a sales commission of 5 percent when auction listings are sold. If you are interested in learning more, go to angustradingpost.com.
